Nerivio Migraine Therapy Brand Platform
Project introduction
Nerivio is a wearable medical device designed to help people manage migraines without medication. Developed as a connected treatment system, it combines wearable technology, data and behavioural insights to support patients before, during and after a migraine episode.
The challenge was not only to communicate a new type of treatment, but to rethink how migraine care is positioned entirely. The platform reframes Nerivio as a partner in migraine management – supporting people through a complex condition that affects not only the body, but daily life, relationships and wellbeing.

The challenge
The healthcare category is typically structured around highly specific treatments targeting specific symptoms. Communication tends to focus on the moment of pain rather than the wider impact migraines have on people's lives.
For many sufferers however, migraines affect far more than the physical episode – influencing daily routines, work, relationships and emotional wellbeing. The challenge was to create a brand position that recognised this broader experience while still communicating a credible and medically grounded product.
Insight
Migraines are often dismissed as "just a headache." For many sufferers however, the condition affects far more than the moment of pain – influencing daily life, work and relationships. Many sufferers feel their pain is dismissed or misunderstood, leaving them isolated during episodes. The most meaningful role a brand could play was not simply relieving pain, but helping people feel supported and understood throughout their entire journey with the condition.

The platform positions Nerivio not as a single treatment, but as part of an ongoing system supporting people before, during and after migraines. The approach shifts the conversation from short-term relief towards a broader relationship with the brand – built around personalisation, holistic wellbeing and continuous support.
Brand system
The visual language draws from the distinctive capsule shape of the Nerivio device, using it as a unifying brand device across product, interface and communication. Gradients inspired by calm medical environments introduce a softer and more human tone to the category, balancing technological credibility with emotional reassurance. Together these elements create a flexible system that can operate across product design, digital interfaces and campaign communication.
Applications
The brand system was explored across a range of touchpoints including product packaging, digital interfaces, campaign communications and outdoor media. These applications demonstrate how the platform scales into a coherent ecosystem – positioning Nerivio as both a medical device and a supportive companion for people living with migraines.
Nerivio is not positioned around what the device does. It's positioned around what it means to live with migraines – and not face it alone.
